Buying online is the best way to ensure that there will still be availability. We suggest buying tickets online as soon as possible. In past years we’ve been selling out a week prior to the rodeos and each year we sell out even earlier. Once an event is sold out, there is no way to purchase tickets either online or at the box office.
The official ticket partner of the Eagle County Fair & Rodeo is tix.com. Please be aware of unauthorized sites & individuals selling our tickets. Buying tickets through these sites does not guarantee entrance into the event. Those reseller sites often pay for ads that place their website above ours so it is the first option to click. We are doing our best to stop this but unfortunately, it is not illegal at this time. The only other locations where tickets are authorized to be sold at the rodeo box office during the Fair & Rodeo.
Once an event sells out, ticket scams increase. Picture this: you’re waiting in line to see the rodeo. Tickets have been sold out, but you found and purchased a pair of tickets on social media from a stranger that “can’t get a babysitter/suddenly has to go out of town/ has a relative in the hospital / can’t get out of work”. After waiting patiently you finally get to the gate, but when your ticket is scanned the unthinkable happens – your ticket is invalid! We’ve seen this happen even at our small town rodeo.
Counterfeit tickets can throw a wrench in your plans. Whether you purchased tickets in person from a friendly stranger or bought them online through social media or one of the many non-verified ticket resale websites, the risk of purchasing fake tickets is all too real. The Fair & Rodeo can only guarantee tickets purchased directly or transferred from our ticket seller tix.com. Want to feel good about transferring or buying an e-ticket from a stranger, check out the “Transfering your ticket” section below.
Tips for avoiding scams
- Do not buy a paper ticket – those can be duplicated and if someone arrives before you and their ticket is scanned, you will not be able to access the event.
- Do not buy a photo/ screenshot of an e-ticket – the only method for e-ticket transfer that is safe and secure is using the Tix.com transfer process. During this process the ticket is re-assigned, the old ticket is made invalid and only the new ticket that the recipient received is valid.
Electronic tickets will be accepted at all gates. Select “e-ticket/ print at home” to be able to use your tickets on your mobile devices. You can also select “will call/ box office pick up” for your tickets to be waiting for you at will call. Will Call is located at the Grandstand ticket office. Tickets purchased online will be charged a $1.50 per ticket convenience fee.
Be aware of scammers! Our tickets are only sold through Tix.com.
All seating is general admission. This means there are no assigned seats. If you have a large group or want a specific spot in either area, it is best to arrive by 6:30. This applies to grandstand covered seating especially. We suggest arriving early if your group is larger than 3 people and you’d like to sit together. Once the stands fill up, we can’t guarantee that your group will be able to sit together. We do have VIP box seating that is sold in advance to sponsors and is not available for public sale.
The Grandstand’s open at 6 pm at the West ramp. Uncovered seating will open once volunteer ticket scanners are in place.
All seating entrances will be manned with volunteers that will scan/ take your ticket and stamp your hand prior to entering the seating areas. You are able to leave the seating area whenever you want and will need to show your hand stamp for re-entry. We will not be able to allow access if your ticket is not valid or you do not have that day’s hand stamp.
Grandstand Covered Seating – These seats have a great view of the arena and provide quick access to the food vendors and bathrooms. These are bleacher-style seats without seat backs. Please arrive early if your group is larger than 3 people and you’d like to sit together.. These seats are covered which can be nice in inclement weather. Grandstands open at 6 pm at the West Ramp entrance.
Uncovered Seating – There are 2 uncovered bleachers located at either end of the grandstands. There are no bad views at the rodeo and the uncovered stands are a great place to catch the action of contestants racing towards you from the gates or running away from you. Food and bar locations are close by. The uncovered seating is not accessible. You can access the uncovered seating from either the east or west end on either side of the grandstands. The rodeo is rain or shine so we suggest you bring rain gear and umbrellas if there is any chance of rain.
Accessible seating – The accessible seating area is in the covered grandstands on the east and west end. You can access it by the east and west ramp entrances. The accessible seating area is available for those who need it and 1 guest. If you are part of a large group, please arrive early so that you may choose the first row. If you need help, just ask staff for assistance. Accessible seating is limited so we suggest you arrive early to claim your seats.
The Grandstand ticket office is located under the grandstands on the south west corner. We suggest buying your tickets online as soon as you can as the rodeos have been known to sell out in advance.

After an event is sold out and you’re unable to buy a ticket online, the only process that is guaranteed to ensure a valid ticket to the event is using the Tix.com transfer process. During this process the ticket is re-assigned, the old ticket is made invalid and only the new ticket that the recipient received is valid.
Online option – Transfer your tickets using the Tix.com transfer process. To use the Tix.com ticket transfer process follow the steps in this link. Watch this quick 3 minute video that walks through what the ticket transfer process looks like for both initiating a transfer and receiving a transferred ticket. Eagle County Fair & Rodeo will not be able to transfer tickets on your behalf.
Tickets can only be transferred if the order meets the following criteria:
- The original order containing the tickets is set to E-Ticket/Print at Home NOT Will Call
- The original purchaser has a Tix account (the transfer recipient will be able to set up a Tix account during the transfer process if they do not already have one)
Onsite option – Sometimes folks show up to the rodeo with an extra ticket. If you are in need of a ticket or want to sell/ give away tickets head to our Ticket Exchange area, located across from the Grandstand ticket office. Buying a paper ticket from someone onsite is still risky as it might not be a valid ticket or another copy of the ticket could have already been scanned. You can still go through the tix.com transfer process onsite to ensure a valid e-ticket is exchanged.
Disclaimer: The transfer process through Tix.com only transfers the tickets. It does not deal with money changing hands. Eagle County Fair & Rodeo is unable to assist if you tried selling or buying tickets with money involved and the money transaction wasn’t successful but tickets had already been transferred.
Strollers are not allowed in the grandstands. Unattended “stroller parking” is available past the grandstands on the far east end.
Dogs & other animals are NOT allowed on the rodeo grounds. It is dangerous for your pet, as well as the rodeo animals. Service animals are allowed.
