Of course, you should wear your favorite Western duds. The main stands are covered, but the bleachers on both the west and east ends are not. It is typically warm when the rodeo begins, but it cools down quickly when the sun goes down. A jacket or a blanket is recommended to keep warm. Colorado typically experiences a monsoonal weather pattern in July, which means afternoon rain showers. Lastly, as the sun sets in the west those with sun-sensitive eyes may be more comfortable wearing sunglasses. The rodeo goes on even if it rains, snows, or storms.
The rodeo lasts approximately two hours, but it may go a little longer occasionally. On Friday and Saturday nights, a free concert starts immediately following the PRCA rodeo performance. Plan on sticking around for the fun.
