FAIR & RODEO ADVISORY COUNCIL
Purpose
The purpose of the Fair & Rodeo Advisory Council is to host a premier fair and rodeo event that preserves our western heritage and provides enjoyment for our communities and visitors.
Meetings
Held on the first Tuesday of each month from 4:30 – 6 p.m.
Terms
Regular members serve two-year terms.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement annual Fair & Rodeo events
- Advance Eagle County’s Fair & Rodeo Advisory Council’s purpose
- Provide proper financial oversight
- Ensure adequate resources
- Ensure effective planning
- Recruit and orient new board members and assess board performance
- Communicate and be a spokesperson for the Fair & Rodeo mission and the event in the community
- Evaluate the Fair & Rodeo event annually and identify performance improvement measures to implement during the next year

Qualifications and Skills
- Diverse representation of professional and technical backgrounds and skill sets
- Individuals must be passionate, hardworking, team-oriented, visionary, collegial, practical, engaging, and innovative
- Background in financial management, planning, customer service, fundraising, legal, media and public relations
- Strong organizational development, technology, facility management experience and fair and rodeo expertise
- Diversity of geography, age and ethnicity
Commitment
- Plan to attend 11 monthly meetings
- Attend and work every day of the event – generally the last week of July
- Bring ideas to continuously improve the event

Eagle County Fair and Rodeo Advisory Council Opening
Are you ready to cowboy up? Eagle County is looking for a dedicated community member to serve on the Fair and Rodeo’s Advisory Council.
• Help plan and implement annual Fair & Rodeo events
• Oversee and organize finances
• Ensure adequate resources are available for a smooth event
Individuals must be passionate, hardworking, and team-oriented. Regular members serve two-year terms and are asked to meet on the first Tuesday of each month for 11 monthly meetings.
